Finding Community Through Sport

Finding Community Through Sport

Growing up, sports were where I found my people.
Gymnastics, rowing club, running, dancing: no matter the activity, my closest friendships always came from moving my body.

Sports have always given me something priceless: a community. A place filled with healthy souls. Often, it was the only space where I truly felt supported, and even more importantly, understood. I didn’t feel like an alien anymore. My teammates were like me. They loved the same things, moved with the same passion, and spoke the same unspoken language. Finding your people is such a gift.

And it doesn’t stop there. Sports make you travel, discover, and connect. You meet new people, new cultures, all tied together by the same passion. That sense of shared purpose is one of the most important things in my life, and that’s why I wanted to share a little bit about it with you today.

Friendships built through sport are special. The community becomes family. These are often some of the healthiest people you’ll ever meet, in their mindset, their behavior, and their bodies. Your sport community lifts you up, gives you confidence, cheers you on, pushes you to become the best version of yourself, and stands by you through hard moments. They’re there for you on the field, in the studio, and in life.

I feel incredibly lucky and deeply grateful for all the wonderful people I’ve met along the way.

Koraloona celebrates friendship and sport communities. Because there is nothing better than being surrounded by people who believe in you, who you love, and who share the same passion as you do.
